About the Course
This course is being delivered in partnership with the Open University to equip you with the skills and knowledge that are necessary to establish a good career in the world of business. This is a part-time course over two calendar years, which is designed to fit in with a full-time job or other commitments. Your programme of study will be supported by exciting Open University materials, as well as workshops and tutorials throughout the year.
Course Content
You will study the following modules:
- Introduction to Business Studies
- Developing Effective Performance at Work
- Professional Communication Skills for Business Studies
- Managing in the Workplace
- Business Organisations and their Environments
- Business Functions in Context.
There is an option in Year 2 to convert to a Foundation Degree in Leadership and Management by undertaking a Leadership and Management module instead of Business Functions in Context.
Assessment
Assessment is by a mixture of written assignments or examinations.

On successful completion of this course, you may wish to top-up your qualification to a full degree via the Open University.
