How Much Does it Cost?
The cost of HE has risen dramatically in recent years. Changes in legislation have resulted in more of the costs of HE being passed on directly to the students. Universities have also been allowed to charge variable course fees. Although some financial support has been put in place by universities and student loan facilities are available to all students, the cost of HE can be high.
UCMK is acutely aware of these financial pressures on students. We recognise that a very significant component of this financial burden is the cost of living away from home. This is why we believe it is so important for students in Milton Keynes and the surrounding region to have the opportunity to study locally and avoid the prohibitive costs associated with student accommodation. We offer flexible courses that can often be studied part-time and so can be taken in conjunction with employment to make them more affordable. Our partner universities have among the lowest course fees.
Taken together, these factors make UCMK a more affordable place to study, offering excellent value for money. If financial pressures do strike, our helpful support staff are on hand to give realistic advice and support to help students through financial crises.
