Entry Requirements:
You should have either achieved AAT Technician (Level 4 Diploma) or the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting.

Course Description:
The CIMA 2010 Professional Qualification is highly regarded and recognised by businesses around the world. In 2011/12 Milton Keynes College is offering five modules:

  • Financial Operations (3836-1/1)
  • Enterprise Operations (3835-1/1 )
  • Performance Operations (4168-1/1)
  • Enterprise Management (4169-1/1)
  • Financial Management (4170-1/1).

The full 2010 Professional Qualification is made up of 4 elements:

  • The Operational Level - 3 exams
  • The Managerial Level - 3 exams
  • The Strategic Level - 3 exams
  • Test of Professional Competence in Management Accounting - Consists of the completion of 3 years of relevant, practical work based experience and a final case study exam where you apply your knowledge to a business problem.

The course enables students who have already completed the AAT Level 4 Diploma in Accounting to achieve a well-recognised Level 5 professional qualification in Management Accountancy in 2 years rather than 3.

Employment opportunities for people with this qualification are greatly enhanced. CIMA-qualified management accountants have an excellent understanding of finance and business. They use this to shape the future of their organisations. They have a broad business perspective and excellent employment opportunities around the world.

Course Content:

Qualification Structure
The professional qualification consists of 10 exams including a final case study. You also need to gain 3 years of practical work experience.

Operational Level
The three papers at this level are:

  • E1: Enterprise operations
  • P1: Performance operations
  • F1: Financial operations

Management Level
The three papers at this level are:

  • E2: Enterprise management
  • P2: Performance management
  • F2: Financial management

Strategic Level
The three papers at this level are:

  • E3: Enterprise strategy
  • P3: Performance strategy
  • F3: Financial strategy

Assessment:
Each module is assessed by an national examination.

You are required to register with the CIMA as a student.  The registration form and further details and guidance can be obtained from CIMA -  contact details below. Any fee exemptions should be agreed with CIMA prior to the start of the course. Annual membership, books and exam costs are not included in the course fees. Membership fees are approximately £150, while exam fees are approximately £70 per subject.

On successful completion of these 5 modules, you may wish to continue your studies towards becoming a full member of CIMA by completing the Management and Strategic Levels. Further information on these modules will be published during 2012.
